Flourishing through character: perspectives on virtue, life skills, and competencies in 21st century education
Verónica Fernández, Claudia Navarini, James Arthur
Flourishing through Character: Perspectives on Virtue, Life Skills, and Competencies in 21st-Century Education addresses the fundamental purpose of contemporary education. Moving beyond a narrow focus on standardized performance and instrumental skill transmission, the volume argues for an integrative educational model centered on human flourishing. By bringing together experts from philosophy, psychology, and pedagogical practice, the book examines the relationship between character, virtue, and professional competence. It provides a robust framework for schools and universities to foster personal growth, moral judgment, and the development of capacities necessary for living a meaningful life in a complex, pluralistic society.
