Juan Martín Prada

Professor at the University of Cadiz, where he directs the research group “Contemporary Aesthetic Theories”. He is the author of the books La apropiación posmoderna. Arte, práctica apropiacionista y Teoría de la posmodernidad (Fundamentos, 2001), Prácticas artísticas e Internet en la época de las redes sociales (AKAL, 3rd edition 2019), Otro tiempo para el arte. Cuestiones y comentarios sobre el arte actual (Sendemà 2012, 2nd edition 2019) and El ver y las imágenes en el tiempo de Internet (AKAL, “Colección de Estudios Visuales”, 2018), among others. He has contributed to numerous national and international journals, such as Revista de Occidente, Revista Española de Investigaciones Sociológicas REIS, Revista de Filosofía, Estudios visuales, Fibreculture-The Journal, EXIT, and the cultural supplement “Cultura/s” of the newspaper La Vanguardia, among many other print and digital publications.
